FAQs – Working with Jamie Moffat
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple—just send me an enquiry or email. I try to reply within 24 hours on weekdays (weekend enquiries are answered on Monday). We can set up a free 15-minute chat over the phone or online to answer your questions and see if we’re a good fit. If you're ready to jump straight in, we can skip the chat and book your first session.
Who do you work with?
I work strictly with adults (18 and older).
Where do sessions take place?
I offer face-to-face sessions in Manchester City Centre, as well as online sessions if you live anywhere else in the UK.
What does "Integrative" counselling mean?
It simply means I don't use a single, rigid method for everyone. Instead, I blend different counselling techniques to suit what you're going through, what you want to get out of therapy, and how you prefer to work.
What happens in the first session?
Our first session is a chance to talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and how we might work together. Afterward, you can decide if you’d like to keep going. There’s no pressure or obligation to commit.
How many sessions will I need?
That’s completely up to you and what you’re looking for. Some people come for short-term support to work through a specific issue, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We’ll check in regularly to make sure you're getting what you need from our time together.
How much are sessions and how do I pay?
Sessions are £65 for a 50-minute appointment. Payment details will be provided when you book, and you can pay online before your appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or move a session as long as you give at least 48 hours’ notice. If you miss a session or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full fee still applies.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Yes. Privacy and trust are essential. I follow strict professional codes of ethics and privacy laws to keep your details and everything we talk about safe and private.
What if I need immediate or crisis support?
My practice is appointment-only, so I cannot provide urgent or crisis support. If you are in immediate distress or feel unsafe, please contact your GP, call NHS 111, go to your nearest A&E, or call Samaritans free on 116 123.
